All 25 found a sponsor

Alhagie picked these 25 students for the work they put in all year. In our May 2026 campaign, friends of Ascend sponsored every one of them. Thank you!

What $100 covers

Where your $100 goes

Families usually pay for school uniforms and books themselves, and many of our families are already stretched thin. Sponsorship is our way of taking care of our community.

$40for your student

buys their school uniform and books for the year: textbooks for five subjects, exercise books and a geometry set.

$60for tutoring

goes to tutoring, which every Ascend student gets twice a week in English, math, science and test-taking skills.

$100in all

sponsors one student for the full year. Practice, coaching and every Ascend event stay free for all of our students.

Madam Clara, Mr. Jarju and Mr. Bah teach our English, math and science sessions.

How it works

Pick a student in January

  1. 01

    We post the class

In January we put this year’s class on this page, with a photo of each student.

  2. 02

    You pick a student

Click a student’s name and fill out a short form with your name and email.

  3. 03

    You give $100

Seth emails you a link to give, usually within a day. Your gift is tax‑deductible.

  4. 04

    They’re sponsored

We mark your student Sponsored on this page and send your gift to our team in The Gambia.
